At our Free Model Group we draw each other if we don't have a paid model and it is a great way to keep the sketching skills honed. But it is also hard for some of us to sit still for 20 whole minutes...perhaps a good learning experience so we appreciate our models. My friend Carol Wood drew a beautiful sketch of me on Wednesday. She is a terrific artist and always flatters me!
I did finish the painting I started at Craig Srebnik's workshop and thought it was a good exercise...not sure where I'm going with this approach but it certainly is loser than lots of what I do. Also, I will have to learn to do paintings of people that could be anyone if I hope to sell more than commissioned portraits.
