Memorial Day/May 2026 Updates

Update time again...painting digital works has been my therapy during the ups and downs of our recent move.  We finally have a few neighbors (besides the alligators, raccoons, wild hogs, and NoSeeums). I like being near a big city that has everything, and I am relearning my driving skills.....

I do have a new little art group but they don't have models so we shall see....

Below, some landscapes are from James Juliers' wonderful tutorials, and some are ones I created myself with Procreate.  All the people paintings are from photo refs which I guess is better than nothing...one is my sister....

Enjoy!

I wish I could figure out how to align these images!!!

February 2026

Can it really be the start of another year???   We did finally move into the new place after a wonderful birthday trip to Belgium and the Netherlands and we loved seeing son and DiL but missed our daughter terribly.

I haven't painted as much with all the packing and unpacking and meeting workers and repairers and installers, etc.  I can't say it was fun but it is almost done.

All landscapes below are either tutorials or ones I have done trying to translate the lessons from wonderful James Julier.  The figures are people using photo refs as I have no model or art group for now.  I continue to love digital painting, though I do have space to use traditional media.....we shall see.....

ENJOY!

Time for a new post and it is not even November!

Well, lots is going on, so I guess it is time to post. We loved our Japan trip, and I even did a few paintings there based on the many things we saw.

Many of these are James Julier tutorials and so much fun.  All painting of people are from models or photo refs.

I still love digital painting and now try other artist tutorials as there is so much to learn.

We are getting ready for a trip to the Netherlands and Belgium this fall for my birthday and are excited to meet both of our kids there.  Also, we will move to a new home in December,.....12 years in Sandestin is enough......time for a change!
