A few water colors after a wonderful trip

We took a winter trip to South America and of course I took way too many photos but we found some wonderful places and beautiful people and will look forward to returning again.   I drew a little but never painted...not that kind of trip.

It is great to get back and see my artist buddies...and do a little work.  All of these were completed in watercolors .....a really good change.  My goal is to create complete works....not my usual WC sketches...

Gina at Cafe Bienville and a little Plein Air

Finished working on Gina.....I just love her classic features....she is a terrific model!

Went to the Alaqua Animal Refuge and painted Snowball and Striker.  They were so great and seemed to like having me in their barn watching them eat.  What a great experience!  These are rescue horses, as are all the animals in this "no kill" shelter.

Finishing what I Started

My mother tells me I should always finish what I start and with many paintings, it is a good goal.  I had seven starts over the last few weeks (months) and unfinished pieces are like weights....they are psychological ballast ......I finished 2 plein air pieces today and covered over 2 more and will think about the other 3 later......I feel better!
